Halloween

Finn and Mackie went Trick or Treating this year in what is soon to be our new neighborhood. It was a great evening with both old and new friends.

Mackie was a ballerina, and Finn was a cowboy. The best quote was from Finn. As he put on his costume, he very politely asked "Who is gonna put out the eggs?" Just we got a little confused over the halloween bucket and the easter basket?

Fall Break

Not sure why we need a week long fall break just three weeks before Thanksgiving break, but sometimes you can't ask those type of questions.

Anyway - Finn and Mac had the week off of school. So on Wednesday, we headed to Charleston to the aquarium. Charlotte and Colton Freeman joined us for the ride.

Island Playground

Over in Hilton Head is a great indoor playground with bouncy houses, castles, all sorts of stuff.

Mac loved playing peek a boo, and Finn had a blast in the castle.

Of course Mackie can also be a little bully. Tripp says she gets it honestly.

Summer Fun at the Skate Park

Every saturday during the spring, summer, and fall, Port Royal hosts the most wonderful Farmer's Market. The best part for Finn is the location -- right next to the skate park. Here he is riding his skateboard.

Mackie likes it too, of course. We think she maybe our little dare devil.

Words of Wisdom

Finn and I had the following conversation today after school:

Finn: "Mommy, where's daddy?"

Me: "Daddy is at work, baby."

Finn: "Why?"

Me: "To make money."

Finn: "Why?"

Me: "So that we can live in our house, buy clothes, food, and...."

Finn: "And juice."

Me (said with a chuckle): "Yes buddy, and juice."

Finn: "Box juice!"

Me (said with laughter): "Yes, and box juice."

If only it were always this simple.

The alien invasion

Mackie's Second Birthday

Last night we celebrated the birth of MaryAnne Coker Presnell. Our sweet but fiesty baby girl. The past two years have flown by and each day she grows so much.

It was an evening full of family, friends, cake and of course lots of swimming.

Oh the summer....

Well, summer is slowly coming to a halt. We have throughly enjoyed ourselves with trips to Fripp Island, Lake Burton, Uncle T and Bec's wedding in Highlands, and of course lots of boat rides and catching of crabs.

Finn can now swim under water - though Tripp needed to rescue him once as he jumped off the dock at Lake Burton with no one in the water to help (my heart almost stopped, but all was well). He has jumped off the diving board at the pool and several boat houses at Lake Burton (pics to come in a separate post).

Mackie thinks she can swim.

School starts next week for Finn and Mackie. This will be Mac's first time in "real" preschool. She will be going Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Finn will be going Monday through Friday. We meet our new teaches on Friday.

Finn at school

Finn seems to love his school, but every picture, and I mean every one, taken of him at school shows his now famous photo grimace. This includes the christmas picture, our valentines day picture, etc. I even have a picture of him facing the wall instead of smiling in the camera.

But Ms. Susan finally got the perfect shot. I must say my little boy is quite handsome!
PS - He has now added Ms. Susan and Ms. Emmy to his God Blesses everynight.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day from the Presnell household. If only, we had remembered to wear some green today. But alas, mama can't seem to remember it all so Finn went to school with no green. Thankfully, pinching is not allowed in pre-school and most of his "sinns" (Finn's pronunciation of friends) generally overlooked the day.
The Mackster is recovering nicely from an ear infection, but still has a really nasty cough and runny nose. It really can't warm up fast enough for all of us.
Speaking of warming up. Tripp and I have been working hard in the yard and garden. So far we have some carrots, lettuce, arugala, cabbage, okra, broccoli, and snap peas planted. I'll post some pictures for all to see as soon as I can.
Nanny or Nana is headed this way on Friday to help babysit.

Finn Shoots

Finn was given his first gun by his Uncle Joseph the day he was born. Last weekend at Briar Creek, he got to shot it for the first time. From that moment on "shoot my gun" became his mantra. We just might have a little sharp shooter on our hands.
